The Senior Therapist here at Rainbow Horizons IBI Centre, is very impressed with how Sally has developed in her role as Instructor Therapist. As such he would like her to start taking on more leadership responsibilities. For instance, the Senior Therapist is concerned about a new child in the program, Joseph. As you would expect given that he is newly diagnosed and only 2.5 years old, his mother is not at all familiar with IBI. Every time she drops Joseph off at the Centre she has a number of questions about the latest interventions for learners with ASD and their efficacy, and is unsure/unaware of what we are doing with Joseph.
The Senior Therapist is just about to leave for vacation, but thinks it is important for someone to meet with Joseph’s mother to ease her concerns about IBI. The Senior Therapist would like Sally to meet with Joseph’s mother and educate her on the key aspects of IBI as well as to help alleviate any stress she may be having about IBI. He wants her to video-tape the meeting and so he can review how it went and determine if a follow-up meeting is needed on his return. Sally might want to also put something in writing or provide handouts so Joseph’s mother can take the information home with her and discuss it with Joseph’s father.
