Part A there are 2 case studies
A clinical case study provided for you to diagnose. Be careful when completing your diagnosis to not make disorders where there are none. In order to do this, you need to evaluate whether a behavior is normal, abnormal or a psychological disorder. This assignment is a condensed version of the first diagnosis assignment.
The attached document is a case study related to psychology. After reviewing the case study provide the following information for review:
1. A full diagnosis. Make sure to list all disorders that the person may have in the order that is clinically significant at the time of the assessment. (15 pts)
2. And a description of which treatment you believe would work best in this case with an explanation of why you believe that (10 pts ).
Part B Discussion 2 Paragraphs per question
1. You may note that there are many sexual crimes we are aware of that are not accounted for in the paraphilia section of the DSM-IVTR. What would the ramifications be if individuals convicted of rape were also considered mentally ill? Yet we have a diagnosis of pedophilia? Two part discussion: 1A. Address your thoughts regarding whether you believe that all of the sex crimes should also be mental health issues. Are there problems with the current classification systems of psychological issues in this regard? 2B. Go to the PA megan’s list website http://www.pameganslaw.state.pa.us/ Read the information on the entrance page of that site including looking at the link of the role of the sexual offender assessment board. After doing so, search for offenders in your area (this can be done by zip code). Do you believe that the site provides enough information? What were you thoughts on the registrants in your area?
2. Cross-cultural research suggests that Bulimia Nervosa (BN), but not Anorexia Nervosa (AN), may be a culture-bound syndrome. That is, AN is found all over the world, but BN is not. Why might this be? Generally, culture-bound syndromes tell us something about the culture in which they are found. What do you think that BN tells us about our culture?
Find some research to back up your stance and be sure to cite your source.
