Fortunately, Marjane Satrapi’s autobiography Persepolis provides us with a useful account of the Iranian Revolution, its outcomes, and legacy. However, for all its advantages, Persepolis ultimately represents only one individual’s perspective, and as such, one cannot hope to grasp the full complexity of the revolution and its legacy in Iranian society by reading Marjane Satrapi’s account alone. Your task is to identify further layers of complexity regarding the Iranian Revolution and its legacy that are not immediately apparent in Persepolis.
