This class has been a learning curve for me as a manager. I personally have learned with this class how to be a better manager and how to respond and act when problems occur. This class has shown how to be a manager and I also feel that this material that we have learned you will have no issue with having great management skills.

My first chapter is 9 which talks about Human Resources and Diversity. It has opened my eyes to what is involved in the process of hiring. It is not as easy then what people think. In my job all our hiring is done by manager to hire for their own departments and all the paperwork is input directly by them. So, learning what is required made me give the credit to the managers for going from step one to finish. With the diversity part of it I did not realize that there are a lot of issues, such as Age, Gender, Race and Ethnicity and Religion. As a manager we must think about all types of diversity in the workplace, so we speak to our employee’s in the proper manner.

My second chapter is 5 enlighten me as the proper way to set up plans and setting goals for all the employee’s that under me. In this chapter the material gave me the step by step on how to make up a plan. How to set the goals needed and work more efficiently. With this chapter it has made me realize that not only making goals for work but to make one for myself, for the plans that I wish to complete as a good person/manager.

My last chapter is 10, managing work groups and work teams. This chapter discuss how to become a better leader, while managing groups and teams. This showed me how to manage the employee’s and complete given tasks. We also learned that even through you might have a specific group that you are managing does not mean that you cannot start a different group for a specific project that needs to be done. Everyone might be in specific group, but we are all still a team no matter what group you are in.

This course has taught me overall on how to be a manager that is efficient and knowledgeable. This knowledge that I have learned will help me in the future by guiding me so there are chance for mistakes and high chance for success. Also, as a manager make sure that you know all the details for assuming something happened and who is responsible for the mistake that occurred. Of many processes and theories. This knowledge will help me in guiding my associates to do week and have a bright future.
