o Ex. (comparative thesis): Although both texts demonstrate the psychologically damaging effects of Eurocentric thought on minority identity, the latter text provides an optimistic return to traditional ritual as a means of healing.
o Thesis thought models: literary work + device/theme = cultural insight
literary work + device/theme = effect on reader
literary work + device/theme = significance of the work
