CW components of Vibration and Control Engineering for S2 have been modified. The alternative CW component was approved to be as follows:
Each student should conduct an individual mini research project and submit a 5-6 pages report (including figures)
on his research project. You are required to select one research topic of the following list for your project:
1- Bode Plots for liquid level systems.
2- Bode Plots for Pneumatic systems.
3- Different methods for tuning PID controllers.
4- Using Root Locus technique for stabilizing systems.
5- Approximate models for transportation lag.
6- Bode Plots for thermal systems.
7- Linear simple State Space model for the longitudinal dynamics of an aircraft.
8- Cascade Control scheme.
Your report should include the following sections:
– Cover page.
– Introduction which introduces briefly your research topic. [15 % of total report marks]
– Analysis which presents the research topic with an illustrative example. [65 % of total report marks]
– Conclusion which introduces your findings and what you learned. [15% of total report marks]
– References. [5 % of total report marks]
Overall weight of the CW is 15% of total module marks.
Report weight is 12 %.
